Is my order processed automatically?
No, we personally review every order at the Deadwood Trading Post for our online sales. A Deadwood Trading Post sales person reviews your order to determine if there are any questions we might have in filling it correctly. If we have any questions we email or call you immediately to clarify before filling the order. For example, we contact you if you have not chosen a color (when color options exist).
What if you don't have all of the items in stock?
Despite our efforts to keep our online Deadwood Trading Post up-to-date, occasionally an item you ordered will be out of stock. We will not collect payment for any out-of-stock items. We will e-mail you about the missing item(s) to confirm the balance of your order.
What if I want to return or exchange my order?
We use the same policies with our online Deadwood Trading Post sales as we do in person. Refunds will not be given under any circumstances. Original paintings, prints, cards, books and wood or metal sculptures cannot be returned. You may return an item of pottery or glass for a future purchase credit within 30 days of your receiving the item with prior express authorization from the artist. It must be unused and in its original condition. Credit towards a future purchase will be issued in the form of a gift certificate made out to and mailed to the purchaser. No credit will be given for any shipping charges. All returns must be accompanied by a Deadwood Trading Post invoice, copies are accepted. After a return has been received, it will take 1-2 weeks to process. We strongly recommend insuring your returned item and use of adequate packing to avoid breakage.
Ship your returns to the Artist at their shipping address. It may be permissible to ship to Deadwood Trading Post, 90218 Deadwood Creek Road, Deadwood, OR 97430.
Will sales tax apply to my order?
No. Oregon does not collect sales taxes. And no taxes will be withheld for any other U.S. state or the rest of the world. With out-of-state purchases it is up to the purchaser to notify their state regarding sales tax.
Is it safe to use my credit card?
Absolutely. Currently, our preferred method of payment is through PayPal. Nevertheless, if you prefer, we also offer you the option of submitting your order by mail or telephone at the address/numbers below. All account information submitted to us is safely isolated from unauthorized Internet access.

Cardholder provided Information:
Our electronic purchase service requires that cardholders provide contact information (including without limitation: name, address, city, state or province, postal code, country, telephone and email), and financial information (including without limitation: name on credit card, credit card number and expiry date), and ordering information. This information is collected and used to process the transaction and for internal accounting and other procedures. Following a transaction, we may contact cardholders by phone or email for security purposes.
What is your policy on Privacy?
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others.
How much will my shipping charges be?
During the order process, you will see our standard shipping charges for each item listed as part of the check-out process. This is for Ground-Insured shipping anywhere in the lower 48 United States. A minimum shipping charge applies to each order, it is noted at check out - so additional charges may be applied. If you request expedited shipping and/or shipping outside the lower 48 United States, a separate offline shipping calculation will be made and notification sent to you via email or by phone.
When will my order arrive?
Shipping times vary - usually 10-14 days to the East Coast and 7-10 days to the West Coast.
How do I track my order?
Deadwood Artists are supporting our rural post office so tracking is limited. If you prefer UPS you will receive an email notification with shipment date and tracking information for all orders shipped via UPS. Sculptures too large for UPS shipment will arrive via Freight. The freight delivery company will call you to arrange delivery.
What if I want to ship to multiple addresses?
Only one "Ship To" address can be specified per order. You will need to place a separate order for each separate shipping address. We will mail all receipts to you.
A piece of pottery was damaged during shipping, what do I do?
In the case of a damaged item, please do the following:
1. Retain all packing materials and contents
2. Call us immediately upon receipt to report the damage (541-964-3325)
3. Wait for our instruction on any claim procedures to follow. Deadwood Trading Post, Inc. will promptly refund full charges for the damaged item or send a replacement, if possible.
As so many of our items are one-of-a-kind pieces, we will do our best to provide a similar piece to the damaged item.
New Accounts and Listing Merchandise
Getting started is easy. Simply complete a short form and/or email some basic information.
If you want a web-page, include a photo of yourself, a short bio and photos of your work. Items to be listed in the store must include dimensions/description and pricing. It is that simple.
We provide a limited number of pages to highlight Deadwood and Deadwood artists at no charge as long as they are displaying their work and are not seeking commerce or requesting links for commerce.
If you want a commerce page, there is no charge for your web-page as long as you have merchandise in the store. There is a 10% commission for sales through the Deadwood Trading Post. This is the easiest and least expensive option. No sale, no fees.
Other payment options include a monthly fee of $3.00 for the web-page (billed annually) plus a 3.5% commission for items sold through the store. It includes a listing under artists on the front page of the Deadwood Trading Post. A payment of $5.00 per month (billed annually) buys a web-page with commission free store listings. This also includes a prominent listing under artists on the front page of the Deadwood Trading Post.
If you only wish to list items in the store, there will be a charge of $.50 (cents) for each item for a 4 month listing and a 5% commission on each item when sold.
Service Listings
Currently, there is no charge to list your business in the business/networking section. As the website develops listings will be accepted for an inexpensive price of $12/year to help defray costs.
